Educational Furniture

Having carpeted the floor and put blinds at the windows, the design function also visualises the best furniture to equip the area.

Working with some of the finest manufacturers in Europe ensures that the client has the widest range of choice in terms of style, quality and price.

Chairs and workstations have to conform to stringent Health and safety legislation, as well as being functional yet pleasing to the eye.

This creates the right impression with students and visitors as well as enhancing the environment for the current staff.

The products we will propose have been carefully selected by ourselves to encompass all the requirements listed above, coupled with the all-important space saving properties we base our service on.

One of the biggest problems facing an expanding educational facility is the provision of IT, either as part of the curriculum or as a subject on its own.

This is an area where OFM specialise, by supplying our own unique types of training furniture designed in house to help meet the needs of a modern facility.

Flip screen workstation (below)

ICT as a stand-alone subject or as part of the curriculum is now possible without the need for separate areas within the premises or the classroom.

Simply pull on the under work surface switch, and the monitor keyboard and mouse are lifted by a hydraulic ram to the work surface, the CPU housed in a separate steel box with an opening front makes access to the disk drives simple and easy.

Once the required training is complete simply close the work station lid and lock the switch with the key, the monitor key board and mouse are now secure and out of sight.

Finally close the steal CPU box lock it, and all the equipment is now secure and the workstation is again ready for paper-based training.

The flip screen element can be fitted to any size rectangular workstation desk as below and now into our unique Chevron shape shown below.

Product finish for Flip, Clover, Chevron.

Panels, surfaces and edging are available in Beech, Maple, Oak and Grey. Edge colours are also available in Red, Blue, Green and Yellow, but in some cases will have to be charged as an extra, depending on the quantity required.

Bespoke library furniture (above) designed and built around the area you have. The shelving is constructed of a MFC carcass with adjustable steel shelves, complimented with tables and study cubicles.

Hexacom Mobile Computer Suite

The flexability of the Hexacom mobile computer suite is obvious, six computer work stations in nearly half the floor space of the standard computer desk and chair setup.

Chevron work stations

When designing the chevrons the brief was to create a work station that would allow all the students to view the tutor and smart board, whilst viewing their personal monitor.
The chevron is a staggered station system that when viewed on a footprint plan emulates a chevron pattern.

This design has proved popular not only as a permanent IT station but also as a permanent paper based work station. To complete our most successful products flexibility it is now fitted as an option with the flip screen smart box allowing the station to create multi purpose learning environments.

Clover teaching modules (below)

The clover teaching module was initially designed for Colchester Institute in Essex to meet their requirements for satellite learning shops.

These shops were designed for the local community offering them free IT training and in some cases helping them back into work.

The work stations are designed to enable four students to be seated in a space efficient way using flat screen monitors. The drives are held inside the module legs with all the services feeding them from a central core.

The central core can either be fed from feeder poles or from floor outlets, and be accessed via the removable panels under the work surface.

These removable panels create easy maintenance for engineers and keep all cabling away from the users.
